I have a binocular, if that helps. I need explanation/help on everything else there is to it. I've got bird-feeders also.
Thanks!

Your gonna laugh. I sat a chair where I sit to watch and I leave my chair their every day and all night and go out at the same time every time. I take my water and sit it next to me and my camera. Now the Hawks and birds are used to me being their and they allow me to watch and take pics..It took a few weeks so Id take a book with me too. I also have a note book where I log their times they come and what direction they come from and log their hunting areas around me and their possible nesting sites. I have one hawk (female) that Ive been watching now for 3 years. I even get to watch her teach the babies every year how to hunt its pretty cool. But you have to stay faithful to your times you sit in your chair..
Bella is absolutely right, those are the tools you’re going to use, but hands-down, the best place to learn to use them is at audobon.org. There you can run down your local audobon chapter, and pretty much whereever you live in North America, you have a local Audobon chapter. They have clubs, they sponser bird counts and other watching events, they have classes and workshops and mentoring and newsletters, and dinners and….Well, it’s a tremendous resource all pretty much there fore the asking….and the website is where it all starts.
Hope this helps and good luck…..
Do you have an identification guide? Peterson field guides are good, I recommend a Kaufman identification guide. While viewing birds look at the main color, size and markings. Look at the color of stripes, flecks, etc. Also a helpful hint is to look at the eyes. Look for a colored ring of feather around it. Also look at the color of the beak and legs. This are all helpful identification markings. Once you get good at IDing some birds by sight, get a CD of bird calls and learn them by calls too, its easy to learn calls and learn ID’s at the same time.
Also find an area you can view them and be the least obtrusive to them.

the internet is not working properly on my computer
Unbelievable!! One really CAN find anything on the internet! In looking for all my pots and pans for Thanksgiving, I found my cast iron skillets that I’d shoved away because I just didn’t know how to season them. NOW I DO!! Thanks!!!

I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I have more bird stuff. I sometimes just stick them in my vlogs, but everyone really loved these, so I will try to do them more often. I really want to get that birdcam. Yep, cardinals love the black oil sunflower seeds the best, but still will eat regular stuff as well!
