That is a hard one to answer. I chose species that I loved and then did a lot of research, on line and books. See if you can find a breeder who runs a small aviary in your area that would be maybe let you volunteer your help and in exchange show you what you need to know. One thing about it though you have to understand, bird breeding is not a money making venture and most olnly do it just out of love of the birds. Depending on the type of birds you want to breed and if you want to handfeed them you need someone with experience to show you how to do it properly. And there is a lot of money tied up in incubators for emergencies, brooders, hospital cage, syringes and all kinds of materials and knowledge that is required. For instance, did you know that once your baby Finches are eating on their own you need to remove them from the cage especially the males? Because dad will kill them.

It is very important to remember to check out your states licensing
requirements before you start developing your plans for this
venture.

The state where you live will have some very specific rules that
you must comply with. You will need to be sure that you can pass
the inspection and provide all of the required documentation.

Go to this website. They offer a free mini course on starting daycare that can really help you.

You may have to call your local parks and wildlife department to come and remove the bird or to get some suggestions of the best thing to do. Just be sure to explain to them that it has become a pest. I wouldn't tell them about throwing rocks at it though.

For the price..about $300.00, the Eagle Optics Rangers are a good buy. They are really good quality, and lightweight. I tested out several pairs when my work asked me to pick which ones I wanted...and these seemed to be the best. I have the 8x42. I am really rough on them too and they have held up well. My personal pair are Bushnells, which are about the same price, just as good as far as quality...but not as lightweight as the Rangers.

I have a set of bushnell permafocus 7x35, the permafocus (auto focus) is one of the neatest features i've seen. Whether your looking right in front of you, or 300 yards away, they are always in focus.
